Since arriving at Michigan State University, I have had the opportunity to work with several groups to create 3D models for public outreach purposes. Here are two examples:
MSU Bioarchaeology Lab and Belize Institute of Archaeology collaboration

There is an ongoing collaboration between the MSU Bioarchaeology Lab and the Belize Institute of Archaeology (IA) since 2018. This has involved going to the IA to take photos of several artifacts held there to later be used to create 3D models that are uploaded to Sketchfab. During the summer of 2022, Jack Biggs and I co-hosted two artifact photography workshops at the IA in Belmopan, Belize, where we taught proper photography techniques to the local community (photos pictured in slideshow). There is a permanent photogrammetry set up in the IA, so photos can be taken at any time and sent to MSU for 3D model creation by graduate and undergraduate students.

Internment Archaeology Digital Archive
During the 2022-2023 school year, I was a research assistant for Drs. Stacey Camp and Ethan Watrall on the Internment Archaeology Digital Archive (IADA) project, which focuses on the lived experience of World War II Japanese American incarcerated individuals. I worked along other graduate students to create 3D models focusing on four themes: recreation and leisure, healthcare and medicine, foodways and dining, and education and training. We utilized two 3D digitization methods: the first was an Artec Spider 3D Scanner (example below) and the second was photogrammetry (photogrammetry set up pictured to the right).
